Q. What is meant by “assisted living facility”?
A. An “assisted living facility” in the state of Arizona means a residential care home (10 or less residents) or center (11 or more residents), that provides help with daily living activities such as eating, dressing, bathing and housekeeping and is licensed for supervisory care, personal care and/or directed care services on a continuing basis.
Q. What do the terms supervisory, personal, and directed care mean?
A. Supervisory Care means general supervision and stand by assistance in bathing, dressing, taking medication and intervention in a crisis. Personal Care includes hands on help with bathing, dressing and other activities of daily living. Directed Care means programs and services for persons who are incapable of recognizing danger, summoning assistance, expressing need or making basic care decisions.
Q. Will my long term insurance policy cover my care in an assisted living?
A. Each policy is written to cover different care. You will need to consult with your insurance company regarding what is covered in your policy. Normally assisted living is covered if you need help with some of your activities of daily living and if there is a nurse on the staff for at least 40 hours per week.
Q. Are assisted living facilities covered by Medicare?
A. Though some services such as a visiting nurse or therapy might be covered by Medicare, about 95% of assisted living residents pay for the cost out of their own funds.
Q. How can I check the record of the community?
A. All records are open to the public at the Department of Health Services.
Q. What should I look for in an assisted living community?

Assisted Living Services Available at The Springs *
Assisted Living at The Springs of Scottsdale is designed for seniors who seek residential living with a sense of added security. Assistance is provided through Assisted Living Package Plans or on an a la carte basis. Package Plans are individually designed for each resident based upon his or her unique needs and desires. We offer supervisory and personal care. Services such as support with activities of daily living, including medication management assistance are a few of the services offered.
Individualized PSP (Personalized Service Plans) supported by licensed nurses and certified caregivers, allow our residents to maximize their independence and participate in activities that promote socialization and friendships.

The Springs of Scottsdale is happy to provide Assisted Living Services within your apartment on an a la carte basis. Short term Assisted Living Services may be needed when an illness or event occurs. We provide up to 90 days care with no disruption to your location status and then return you to your regular routine.
